Electricity returns in most of Havana, but rest of Cuba is still plagued by blackouts
Following three days of nationwide blackouts caused by the collapse of Cuba’s electrical system, power was restored to most of Havana on Monday, after Cuban authorities gave up efforts to restore the entire grid for now and opted to try to hook up individual regions around the country.

Electricity has been restored to half of Havana, the Cuban capital's power company reported Monday, four days after the start of a nationwide blackout that the authorities have struggled to address. The government has said that electricity is expected to be restored to most of the country by the end of Monday.

By Monday afternoon, around 89 percent of customers in the capital had power again, however many residents outside Havana remained without electricity, according to the authorities.
