A woman died after she led police on a high-speed pursuit across Los Angeles and Kern counties that ended with a horrific crash into a pillar in Gorman that was captured live on local news.

A high-speed police chase in California ended when a suspected car thief slammed into a highway underpass on Wednesday (October 23) afternoon. The chase started around 1:45 p.m. when the Los Angeles Police Department received a report about a stolen Honda CR-V.

Following the Honda recall over a steering issue earlier this year, the carmaker has announced measures to find and replace faulty fuel pumps in some of its most popular models.

According to Honda, a defective fuel pump part can cause a fuel leak, fuel smell while idling or driving, and the risk of fire, crash, or injury.

Honda has recalled 720,810 cars for cracked pumps that can cause fuel leaks. This is the second major recall from Honda this month.
