Waterbury police say a 15-year-old student at Kennedy High School was hit by a car after leaving school for the day on Thursday afternoon.

Police said they recently responded to and made arrests in separate stolen car incidents on Nov. 7, Nov. 11 and Nov. 12.

A student pedestrian was hit by a car on Thursday outside of John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury, according to the Waterbury Public School District. The victim, a 15-year-old girl, was struck shortly after exiting school at around 2 p.

Police in Waterbury have recovered three stolen cars over the past week, leading to nearly half a dozen arrests. According to police, on Monday evening, officers were patrolling an area and noticed a Red Hyundai Elantra that was reported stolen and being driven by two people and are facing larceny charges.
