For the first time in nearly a decade, Florida wildlife officials are considering a black bear hunt. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in December asked its staff to come up with proposals for a possible hunt as officials pointed to what they consider a now-flourishing bear population.

Nevada’s black bear hunt has long been a point of controversy. While the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) asserts that the annual hunt is an essential conservation tool, animal rights activists argue that it is cruel and unnecessary.

It ticks me off that children are now dying from the measles when we have had a vaccine for decades. It’s a shame that parents are believing non-professional medical people about vaccines. The parents themselves have more than likely been vaccinated when younger.

Florida considers lifting bear hunting ban after nearly a decade

Florida wildlife officials will hold a series of online meetings in March and April about the possibility of a return to bear hunting in the state.

The state’s last hunt was held in October 2015 and was called off after two days as the bear death count quickly reached 304.
