In a major breakthrough, the mastermind behind the Mahadev online betting app scam, Saurabh Chandrakar, was arrested in Dubai on Friday. After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued a Red Notice (RN),

The app is accused of operating through a network of panel operators across India, laundering money from illegal betting activities.

Confirming the development, Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) counsel Saurabh Kumar Pandey told The Indian Express the process to arrest Chandrakar began on September 4

Earlier, Chandrakar and another app promoter, Ravi Uppal, were put under house arrest in Dubai after the ED sought a Red Notice against them. Chandrakar is likely to be extradited or deported to India in the next few days.

Chandrakar is expected to be either extradited or deported to India over the next few days after he was formally placed under arrest in Dubai recently.

UAE authorities officially informed their counterparts in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) yesterday about Chandrakar's arrest.
