BERLIN (AP) — Germany’s government said Wednesday that the country’s economy, Europe’s biggest, is on track to shrink for a second consecutive year — underlining the unpopular administration’s troubles as it heads into a difficult election year.

The German government revised down its gross domestic product forecast for this year to a contraction of 0.2%, the latest sign Europe’s biggest economy is struggling to shake off a prolonged period of inertia.
