FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Mindy Casto is set to be sworn in as the new Fresno Police Chief on Friday. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Saroyan Theatre in Downtown Fresno at 11 am.

Fresno's newest police chief, Mindy Casto, will be sworn in on Friday, succeeding Paco Balderrama who resigned in June 2024.

His wife, Betsy Arakawa, was also found dead in their New Mexico home.

Mindy Casto, who was appointed Fresno's first female police chief, is praised for improving officer morale since replacing Paco Balderrama.
