Epic Games has launched Fab, its new unified marketplace for game development assets, including audio, animations and VFX.

Epic Games is not just about Unreal Engine 5, and to prove its breadth and depth the new Fab digital marketplace launches today. This one-stop destination for discovering, buying, selling and sharing digital assets replaces the Unreal Engine Marketplace and Sketchfab Store.

Fab marketplaces combine the different online stores offered by Epic Games in the past, starting off with the Unreal Engine Marketplace and Sketchfab Store, with the company also claiming that this is the "new home" for the Quixel Megascans.

An Epic spokesperson adds that this is the initial phase of Fab's launch, for which Epic has been "mostly focused on those who are immediately impacted," such as sellers. As efforts around Fab continue to expand, the company will be reaching out to a wider range of users to "provide more granular detail on what's changing."
