Sammy Hagar was on hand to induct the band Foreigner. Kelly Clarkson joined in for a performance of the band’s 1984 hit “ I Want to Know What Love Is ,” and Demi Lovato, Slash and drummer Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers played “ Feels Like the First Time ” (1977).

After becoming famous as a supreme soul-pop songbird with ’60s classics such as “Anyone Who Had a Heart,” “Walk on By” and “Do You Know the Way to San Jose,” the 83-year-old legend will be enshrined into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on Saturday.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony kicked off with a bang as pop sensation Dua Lipa took the stage to perform Cher's hit "Believe.

Inductees this year also included A Tribe Called Quest and Dave Matthews Band, and posthumous recognition for Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Alexis Korner, John Mayall, Norman Whitfield and Big Mama Thornton.
