When asked recently about what age should the students go on pointe and when should they begin preparing. Good ballet training is preparing the students however, as young as 8 years old and I add in what I call extra foot therapy. When I feel the student is ready they are then referred to one of the physiotherapist that go thoroughly through complete pointe assessment and a report sent back to the studio, Consider the famous quote by George Balanchine when asked this same question about the age
